As we look forward to what 2023 has in store, we pause to look back on 2022. We enjoyed sharing customer stories, assisting you in keeping your shop and employees safe, and highlighting the process of achieving high-quality paint finishes.
In case you missed them, here are our top five blog posts of 2022:
1. 5 Ways to Keep Your Paint Booth Clean & Operating in Peak Condition
Proper cleaning and maintenance methods in your paint booth help promote higher-quality paint jobs, reduce rework and contribute to longer-lasting parts and components. They are also critical for the protection of your employees and facility. There are several things you can do to protect your paint booth and keep your finishing equipment running efficiently.
2. Dave Kindig on GFS Paint Booths: “My equipment has paid for itself 100 times over”
Like so many in the collision repair industry, Kindig-It Design has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. A 20 percent reduction in the workforce has coincided with a spike in new business, leaving the famed custom vehicle builder with an extensive backlog and millions of dollars of vehicles waiting in the wings.
“It’s a good problem to have,” said Dave Kindig, owner of the 27,000-square-foot shop outside Salt Lake City. “Luckily, I have equipment that I don’t have to hope is going to work when I fire it up.”
Reliable equipment from Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) — a pair of Ultra XD Paint Booths, a triple-bay Ultra XD Closed-Top Open-Front (CTOF) Booth and an Ultra XD Paint Mix Room — gives Kindig confidence in his shop’s ability to keep producing the boundary-pushing rides his legion of wide-eyed fans have come to expect.
3. “We know our GFS equipment will perform as it should”
When Robinson, Inc. decided to bring powder coating in-house with a new 90,000-square-foot paint and coatings facility, they wanted equipment they could trust from a manufacturer offering local support. Bob Whitefield turned to GFS and local distributor ICAFe — and in 2021, two batch powder coating lines were installed, giving Robinson newfound capabilities to fast-track their growth.
4. “There are a lot of smiles in the body shop” after expansion of 106-year-old dealership
For more than a century, Michael Cuene’s family has bought, sold and repaired cars. In the latest expansion of his flagship dealership, all signs pointed to GFS being the best fit for Broadway Automotive Collision Center. And in 2022, a massive rebuild — featuring four paint booths, a dual-bay prep station and two paint mix rooms from GFS, as well as 42 service bays and a drive-thru estimating station — has Cuene feeling good about the future of his business.
5. “Purchasing this paint booth was one of the best decisions we’ve made”
As Colorwheels Northwest expanded their business, a 20-year-old preowned paint booth no longer was adequate for their growing needs. Efficiency and reliability were what Jason Ross wanted in a capital equipment investment in 2021, and he discovered that — and more — from GFS with a dual-bay Ultra XD Paint Booth.
