Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) is lending a hand to the American Red Cross in hopes of helping Trempealeau County residents equip their homes with smoke alarms and become more educated on house fire prevention and safety.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross Northwest Wisconsin Chapter will distribute free smoke alarms, meeting at GFS’ headquarters in Osseo on July 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They’ll also spend the day teaching residents potentially lifesaving tips — part of a nationwide campaign by the Red Cross, Sound the Alarm, that aims to reduce the number of deaths and injuries due to home fires by 25 percent by 2019. GFS will also provide lunch for the volunteers.
GFS strongly believes in giving back to the community that continues to support us. A longtime supporter of the Red Cross, GFS has participated in several local events over the years, as well as fundraisers for local causes.
To sign up as a volunteer to install smoke alarms and educate on the importance of house fire prevention and safety for this event, contact American Red Cross Disaster Program Specialist Luong Huynh at 608-406-7356 or luong.huynh@redcross.org. Volunteers will meet at GFS at 12731 Norway Road in Osseo, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 14 at 9 a.m.
