Integrating Infrared Curing Systems into Every Step of the Refinishing Process

Driven by a need to maximize limited floor space and reduce curing times, infrared curing has gained popularity in the automotive industry. Shorter cure or dry times also decreases the risk of dust or other contaminants impacting the quality of the finish.

It has been proven that short wave electric infrared technology leads to quality improvements, throughput gains and energy cost savings. With multiple models of infrared curing units available, there are solutions to start saving you time and money immediately. But how do you know which model is right for you?

REVO INFRARED CURING SYSTEMS

REVO Accelerated Curing Systems from Global Finishing Solutions® (GFS) deliver consistent, controlled heat from the inside out. Using mostly short wave infrared technology, REVO Systems heat the underlying substrate, and direct heat outward. They also produce some medium waves. Together, this creates an even, complete cure for up to three layers with just one pass.

With the fastest curing time in the industry, REVO Systems are perfect for both prep and paint processes.

INFRARED CURING SYSTEMS FOR UNDERCOATS AND SMALLER JOBS

Every shop can benefit from speeding up their body department. The smaller members of the REVO Systems family are specifically designed to increase throughput throughout body repair, primer and prep. The result is getting more cars to your paint department each day.

REVO Handheld: The Ultimate Tool for Body Repairs

The smallest REVO System, the REVO Handheld is an immensely versatile and adaptable tool. It helps quickly recoup your investment by speeding up processes and increasing quality along the way.

The REVO Handheld’s large heating area relieves stress around the damaged plastic parts, allowing technicians to complete plastic repairs faster. This can be a time-consuming task when using a heat gun. With the REVO Handheld, you can heat a damaged bumper to 200 degrees Fahrenheit in 10 to 20 seconds. Then, simply pop out the dent.

The REVO Handheld is also perfect for drying body filler in only a couple of minutes. Immediately after, you can use a high-quality, 2k primer. It cures in five to 10 minutes with REVO Handheld and is ready to sand. Then, use the Handheld to cure the base and clear coat in minutes. This cuts hours of spot repairs to a half hour or less.

There are also no special power requirements. The REVO Handheld simply plugs in to any 110-volt outlet. Just switch it on and start heating plastic or curing body filler. There is no warm-up period needed.

REVO Spot: The Ultimate Tool for Primer and Filler

Significantly reduce primer cure time with the REVO Spot. The savings can easily get you at least one more car to the paint department per day. Available on a rolling cart, the REVO Spot can be effortlessly moved into virtually any area in a shop.

The single-cassette infrared curing system is a great solution for quickly curing 3-foot-by-3-foot areas. It can be used on body filler, as well as spray-on and roll-on primer. The temperature sensor automatically adjusts the intensity of the lamps to maintain a consistent temperature regardless of the substrate underneath. This ensures that you never overcure or undercure a coating.

INFRARED CURING SYSTEMS FOR YOUR PAINT SHOP

Some shops can also benefit from adding REVO Systems to their paint process without expanding their footprint. For shops with high-production needs, GFS recommends adding the REVO Rapid or Speed to their paint booth or prep area. For shops just starting up or expecting increased production in the future, GFS suggests purchasing REVO-ready equipment. This includes a high-quality paint booth that is equipped and ready for REVO Systems to be installed later on.

REVO Rapid: The Ultimate Tool for Paint and Prep

Designed for full-panel repairs or body shops with space restrictions, the REVO Rapid features two cassettes and dual sensors. Temperature sensors on each cassette automatically adjust the intensity of the lamps to maintain a consistent temperature. This ensures that you never overcure or undercure a coating.

REVO Rapid is perfect for smaller, quick repair jobs of one to two panels. It can reach any part of a vehicle, and can safely and efficiently cure coatings on two different panels simultaneously. REVO Rapid is ideal in prep areas and Closed-Top Open-Front (CTOF) booths.

REVO Speed: The Ultimate Tool to Cut Paint Time in Half

For everything else, there is the REVO Speed. Excelling in quick lane repair facilities, REVO Speed can cure body filler, primer, base coat and clear coat in one place. It is best suited for body shops that complete large volumes of average repairs on one to four panels. With a vehicle clearance of 7 feet, the REVO Speed can accommodate all sizes of passenger vehicles.

The REVO Speed is ideal in conjunction with a Side-Load Finishing System to maximize production. Vehicles move quickly between work bays on an integrated track and dolly system. The integrated REVO Speed can be easily positioned and moved between bays for increased efficiency.
