A family-run business since 1984, Accurate Auto Body is owned by Edward Cichon, his daughter, Tiffany Silva, and son-in-law, Dan Silva. Located in Richmond, California, the body shop’s primary focus is collision repair of late model vehicles.
For 28 years, all vehicles that came through the shop were painted in their original paint booth. In 2012 the family was in the process of buying land to relocate their business, causing them to begin to look at new paint booths. Their research of booth suppliers quickly narrowed, with the final decision coming down to service and support.
“Most booths will serve their purpose — providing a space for painting vehicles — but if something goes wrong with the booth, how soon can I be back up and running?” Tiffany wondered.
It was the service and support from Global Finishing Solutions (GFS), as well as their distributor, Joel Smith of Precision for Collision, that sold them on a GFS Ultra Paint Booth.
“Joel is amazing, and so is his entire team. They helped us with the move, the layout and the design of the shop, all the way through to permits and installation. I can’t say enough good things about them.”
After working two paint shifts in their Ultra Paint Booth for the next five years, the family sold the Accurate Auto Body lot in 2017 to a neighboring school that was expanding. They then built a new 27,000 square-foot building at their business’s current headquarters.
Thanks to their positive experience with GFS, Precision for Collision and their Ultra Paint Booth, the family decided to purchase two more energy-efficient GFS Ultra Booths for their new facility.
“I appreciate that GFS is constantly improving their products. In just the last five years, there have been significant improvements in the AdvanceCure accelerated airflow system in the Ultra Booths — no more blowers in the corners,” Tiffany added.
In addition to two new Ultra Booths, Accurate Auto Body added two REVO Accelerated Curing Systems. Tiffany knew she wanted to decrease cycle times, and upon researching and consulting with infrared technology companies, she began to really trust REVO’s electric IR technology.
Since installing their REVO Rapid and REVO Speed units, coupled with their new-and-improved Ultra XR and XP1 Paint Booths, the team has been able to put through about 35 jobs per week and already had a record-breaking month.
“Having two spray booths in our new location allows for more work to be processed,” said Tiffany. “The REVO Systems really expedite repairs without sacrificing quality. We had an IRT light before, but it was nothing like what these short wave infrared units can do. With a lifetime warranty on our repairs, our processes need to be foolproof.”
Most customers want a fast repair, and they don’t want to be stuck with a rental car for extended periods of time. Accurate Auto Body is now able to deliver those fast results, without sacrificing quality.
“The example I give to everyone is about a customer who came in on a Friday and wanted his car back before the weekend,” Tiffany said. “We had to replace a rear door which required a blend on the front door and a blend on the quarter panel, which is a very large repair. With the GFS Ultra Booth and REVO Systems, we were able to fully paint, cure and polish his car in five and a half hours — he drove away happy at 5:30 that evening.”
Accurate Auto Body’s new equipment has been an enormous improvement for the shop and their customers. Not only has it increased traffic, but it has significantly improved customer satisfaction and employee morale.
“Everyone is pleased. The booth is so easy to use — from the control panels to changing the filters,” Tiffany added. “I have no complaints. The service and support from GFS is amazing. And with parts readily available, I trust that the investment will pay for itself.”
The team at Accurate Auto Body truly treats everyone like family and wants the best for their customers and community. It’s no wonder why they are so proud to produce high-quality repairs in less time with REVO Systems and GFS equipment.
