Vaughn Wyant started his journey in the automotive business on the sales floor. It was in sales where his “love of the deal” took him from working at Ford dealerships in England, Vancouver and Alberta to owning his own business in his hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Wyant opened his first dealership, Jubilee Ford, under the newly-created Wyant Group in 1983. As the Wyant Group grew to offer more brands, the collision business expanded as well, specializing to meet the demands of changing technology and premium automobiles. What started as a single body shop at Jubilee Ford evolved into an impressive collision center with state-of-the-art technology and amenities, located just across the street.
Alloy Collision Centre opened its doors in February 2018. Providing more than just vehicle repairs, Alloy also features a full detail center — Alloy Detail — an express bistro operated by one of Canada’s leading chefs, a car museum featuring Wyant’s private collection of fully restored automobiles, and a full-service salon and spa operated by Wyant’s daughter, Melissa Wyant-Taylor. In short, Alloy represents the cutting edge of customer experience and satisfaction.
To continue to provide customers with unrivaled repairs and technology for their luxury automobiles, Alloy Collision Centre was in need of a quality supplier of paint booths. Alloy reached out to their trusted partner, Tallon Finishing Systems, to upgrade two paint booths that were more than 30 years old. Alloy and Tallon knew automotive refinish products from Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) would provide the superior finishes and service Alloy strives for.
“With a quality brand and good support, it seemed like a no-brainer,” said Robby Kubica, Alloy’s general manager.
With the goal of outfitting their 65,000-square-foot collision center, Alloy purchased two top-of-the-line GFS Ultra® XP1 Paint Booths, an Ultra XD Parts Booth, an Ultra XD Mix Room and a custom, triple-bay Ultra XR CTOF Prep Booth with three REVO Rapid OR2 (overhead rail) units integrated into the booth ceiling.
“Having two full-size paint booths and one small parts booth has increased our capacity and efficiency. We are growing rapidly — since opening in February 2018, we have put through about 250 vehicles per month,” Kubica explained.
The facility was built to keep up with increased production and satisfy customer needs, which also means getting cars back to their owners faster. Using REVO Accelerated Curing Systems — a revolutionary short wave electric infrared (IR) curing technology that cures fillers and coatings quickly from the inside out — in their prep area has allowed Alloy to increase throughput.
“The REVO Rapid units allow us to prime and paint vehicles in the same day, which definitely helps us be more efficient,” said Kubica.
With many reasons to visit Alloy Collision Centre — from dining at a top-tier restaurant to visiting the collection of Wyant’s cars — the unique amenities complement the work ethic and dedication that have been instilled in all of Wyant’s employees to deliver exceptional service and products. And with the addition of REVO Rapid in their processes, Alloy now has the opportunity to increase their paint shop throughput by up to 80 percent.
