OSSEO, Wis. — Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) has received the Corporate Safety Award from the Wisconsin Safety Council, the state’s leading provider of safety training and products.
Receiving this award — in a category of mid-size manufacturing companies — places GFS in an elite group of less than 200 Wisconsin companies that have won it in the 27 years this award has been presented. GFS was recognized with nine other companies for its exemplary safety record and commitment to creating a world-class safety culture. This award is chosen by an independent panel of judges who are safety, health and insurance professionals.
“Ensuring the safety of workers and the public is a goal of every Wisconsin company,” said Aaron Huebner, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Safety Council. “This year’s winners went above and beyond in accomplishing that goal during a global pandemic. They serve as models of what true commitment to safety is.”
Manufacturing team members at GFS participate in monthly safety audits, which not only create a safer work environment but help further develop their hazard perception skills. GFS has also increased engagement in monthly safety trainings and its safety program by focusing on topics through weekly emails, safety walks, biweekly safety questions and conversations with team members.
“A true commitment to safety permeates our culture, illustrating how much effort our employees put in to make workplace safety a daily reality at GFS,” said Jim Faragher, GFS President. “The energy, enthusiasm and perseverance of our employees makes our workplace safer, both through their participation in our safety program and their creative solutions for safety improvements.”
