Running a solo operation, Derry Peterson needed reliable, efficient equipment that he could trust for his restoration shop that specializes in hot rods. Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) met his expectations, as Legenderry Auto Body opened in 2021 with an Ultra XS Paint Booth and attached Ultra XS Paint Mix Room.
“My dad played around with hot rods, and I raced cars. I had been painting cars for quite a few years and always wanted to have my own shop. I finally bit the bullet and did it before I regretted not doing it. My shop is an old Ford dealership that was built in 1920. It’s a brick building, with a showroom in the front and a shop in the back. I wanted a building that had some character or pizzaz to it, and I fell in love with it.”

If anything were ever to happen with my equipment, I know that I would have that local support. I checked out a few other paint booth manufacturers, and GFS offers a very high-quality product. “I went with a 30-foot-long booth, so I have enough room to paint parts off the vehicle. It can get kind of crowded sometimes otherwise. I’ve always painted in nice downdraft paint booths, and I couldn’t see myself going backward. The booth has been performing really well. The lighting is awesome, and the airflow is really good.”
“My plan has never been to do it all on my own. I need to add a couple technicians, so we can get a little more work done and get it done quicker.”
