October is Manufacturing Month in Wisconsin — a month dedicated to recognizing the robust and dynamic industry throughout the state.
At Global Finishing Solutions (GFS), we are proud to be an integral part of the industry in Western Wisconsin. With more than 260,000 square feet of manufacturing space and state-of-the-art equipment, virtually every component — including panels, lights, fans and ductwork — that make up GFS paint booths and finishing equipment is built and assembled in Osseo, Wisconsin. From assembly to welding and packing to small parts, GFS’ 200 hardworking manufacturing employees are behind every nut, bolt, fan, duct and panel that make up our paint booths and finishing equipment.
GFS Values
Our five core values define our company culture and guide every aspect of our business.
Continuous Improvement
We strive to provide every opportunity for our employees to work their way up from an entry-level position, or start at a more experienced level and advance within the company from there.
Partnership
In addition to supporting our employees, GFS also believes in our core value of partnership and giving back to local communities. Each year, we are happy to provide scholarships to Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) students studying civil engineering and welding. We have strengthened this partnership by providing tours of our facility to the CVTC welding group.
We are also invested in Youth Apprenticeship opportunities for high school students to gain experience in the workplace. Students are treated like any applicant — they have to fill out a GFS application and interview with the hiring manager. Once selected, they are held to the same expectations as GFS employees — make it to work on time, put 100 percent into your work with a focus on quality and work as a team.
“The Youth Apprentice Program is a great program and taught me technical and computer program skills,” said Parker Ramseier, who worked as a brake press operator. “I also learned how to work as a team in the manufacturing environment and got to work for a great company.”
Working together toward a brighter future, GFS is excited to partner with area schools, including Alma Center, Eau Claire North and Osseo-Fairchild high schools, to provide new equipment, technology enhancements and additional resources that connect students to real-world experiences. GFS will also offer mentor/mentee opportunities to technical education students in drafting, engineering and welding programs. GFS employees will visit the schools once or twice a month to spend time with students, as well as provide opportunities for class presentations, tours and job shadows.
GFS is proud to be a part of the manufacturing community in Wisconsin, and we continue to recognize the hard work and commitment our manufacturing employees — and all manufacturing employees — put forth on a daily basis.
