“Our state-of-the-art paint booth has helped us increase our car count and meet delivery dates. Our painters absolutely love it.”

Within Lucas Salter’s family-owned business, the commitment to maintaining top-notch service, quality repairs and great customer relations translated into purchasing a state-of-the-art GFS Ultra® Paint Booth.

Please introduce your business and tell us your story:

Trubilt Collision Center was founded in 1949 as a small shop with only two repair stalls. Over the years, it has been built upon the solid reputation it was founded on. In 1997 my parents, Lynn & Jerry Salter, purchased the shop and our family has proudly grown the business every year since then. My parents have since assumed different roles, placing me and my sister, Amy, in charge of running the business. We are very committed to maintaining top-notch service, quality repairs and great customer relations.

What GFS equipment did you purchase and how has it benefited your business?

We purchased a dual-bay Ultra XD CTOF Booth in the fall of 2018.  The paint department used to be the bottleneck in our organization, and now it is always way ahead of schedule, keeping up with the flow of cars coming through the shop. Mostly everything gets sprayed in the GFS paint booth now.

“The GFS Ultra Paint Booth has helped us increase our car count and meet delivery dates a lot easier. It is a lot bigger than our previous paint booth. Since it has two working bays, we can get multiple cars in the booth at one time, which increases our repair order per booth cycle count. Our painters absolutely love it.”

In addition to our state-of-the-art paint booth, we also have 21 repair stalls, two prep booths, one cut-in booth and a JBI Paint Mix Room.

How did you decide on GFS equipment?

Since we ordered JBI equipment in the past, we learned how great it is to have a paint booth manufacturer in your backyard if something happens.

“GFS has been great throughout the whole process. Chassis Liner Supply did the installation. Everyone has been great to work with the whole way through.”

What is your plan for the future of your business?

Our current customer base is about 85 to 90 percent based in Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley. Our recent body shop purchase in Altoona has expanded that a little bit. We want to continue to grow. Our goal is to have five or six body shops within a 100-mile radius of Eau Claire in the next five to 10 years. Eau Claire will be our hub, and we will have satellite locations within that radius.
