Description

Paint mixing rooms are used to control contamination and remove harmful fumes during the paint mixing process. Paint Mix Rooms from Global Finishing Solutions® (GFS) are available in multiple configurations, and can be connected to paint booths for direct entry. All of our mix rooms feature a 4-inch, integrated spill containment for confining potential spills, eliminating the need for a curb.

Premium Ultra XD Paint Mix Rooms feature dual-skin, insulated panels and are designed to integrate seamlessly with Ultra XD and XP1 Paint Booths.

Safe Storage & Usage Guidelines

The amount of flammable or combustible liquid stored in Paint Mix Rooms must be within the following limits, per NFPA 33:

  • Paint Mix Rooms within 6 feet of the spray area may contain up to 2 gallons per square foot of enclosure floor area, but the combined quantities of liquids in the spray area and mix room shall not exceed 120 gallons
  • Up to 60 gallons may be stored in the spray area
  • Paint Mix Rooms farther than 6 feet from the spray area may contain up to 2 gallons per square foot of enclosure floor area, but shall not exceed 300 gallons
  • If more than one Paint Mix Room is installed, the total quantity of liquids shall not exceed the amounts outlined above
  • Additional limits may be applicable based upon the amount of flammable or combustible liquids present elsewhere in the building

Access Turntable

An easy way to move paint supplies in and out of an automotive paint booth is with a Rotating Booth Access Turntable. Installed into the wall connecting your paint booth and mix room, this GFS-exclusive booth accessory allows for the quick transfer of premixed paint and supplies. One technician can be mixing paint or preparing supplies while another technician is spraying, increasing productivity and throughput.
