Batch Burn-Off Ovens

GFS Batch Burn-Off ovens leverage heat cleaning technology to safely remove baked-on paint from racks, fixtures, hooks and parts. The process reduces labor costs, improves environmental efficiency and optimizes profit potential.

These ovens work great in conjunction with GFS Batch Burn-Off Washers. Our washers are designed for secondary cleanup of burned-off racks, fixtures, hooks and parts, with overhead and corner nozzles spraying water on the product or part to flush loose paint ash from its surface.

Curing Oven FAQs

GFS manufactures three types of ovens. Our Batch Processing Ovens are designed for curing, drying, baking and preheating. Our Batch Powder Ovens are custom-engineered for powder coating. Our Batch Burn-Off Ovens are designed to remove baked-on coating from fixtures and parts.

All of our products are built to deliver consistent, high-quality results across a variety of industries, including industrial and manufacturing, commercial aviation, agriculture, transportation, and defense. Our products will exceed your expectations, whether you’re curing composite components or removing coatings for reuse.

Successful oven installation requires planning that takes into account your facility’s layout, utilities and production flow. Some of the most important factors include your floor plan, ceiling height, fuel supply, accessibility (for loading and unloading parts) and local codes for ventilation and emissions. You should also consider adjacent processes and material handling equipment like carts and track systems.

GFS works closely with our customers and local distributors to make installation as seamless as possible. We’ll help coordinate every step, from space planning and burner placement to exhaust routing and safety clearances. Our modular oven panels allow for flexible on-site assembly, and our expertise ensures your setup is compliant with all pertinent rules and regulations.

GFS has more than 50 years of experience in the paint booth industry and with related finishing equipment like curing ovens, so we know what tools businesses need to maximize performance without compromising safety or quality. Our engineers are always up to date on national regulations and even contribute to standards established by organizations like the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Our vertical manufacturing process also gives us control over every aspect of production. We design every curing oven, fabricate it from high-quality materials, such as aluminized steel and mineral wool insulation, install it on-site and offer service and preventative maintenance programs to keep it in top working order.

GFS ovens come with standard safety features, including airflow switches, interlocks and emergency shutdown systems to prevent fuel imbalances and overheating. Products like our Batch Burn-Off Oven include additional features, such as a secondary water suppression system and an afterburner rated up to 1,900 degrees Fahrenheit to safely neutralize contaminants.

All of our products are designed for compliance with industry-leading standards by organizations like the NFPA, Electrical Testing Labs (ETL), the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the International Code Council (ICC). Our installers use a checklist to ensure full compliance.

Yes. Our in-house engineering and design team includes licensed structural engineers, airflow specialists, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and compliance experts. Everyone works together to build custom industrial ovens tailored to the unique needs of our customers. Everything from the size of the chambers to the layout of the control systems is up to you.

With 3D modeling capabilities and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, our engineers can test airflow and thermal performance before fabrication, saving time while ensuring a code-compliant unit. We can also provide stamped drawings throughout the U.S. and Canada to expedite the approval process, making GFS a great choice for a custom curing system.

Yes. Many of our customers choose to modify their ovens with updated temperature controllers, additional safety interlocks or energy efficiency upgrades to cut operating costs, while maintaining compliance with evolving standards. We also offer accessories, panel replacements and control system enhancements to extend your oven’s lifespan and performance.

GFS ovens have gas-powered burners fueled by propane or natural gas. Gas-powered burners provide stable temperature control, reduced cycle times and rapid heat up to increase productivity.

Yes. GFS ovens have a uni-flow air distribution system that circulates air evenly throughout the chamber, with adjustable airflow tabs for precise tuning. There aren’t any cold spots, ensuring efficient processing and a high-quality finish.

GFS Batch Processing Ovens include PLC-based control systems that automatically monitor operating parameters and safety interlocks. Users can create repeatable temperature profiles, enhancing consistency across batches. Airflow switches and safety interlocks are monitored in real time, preventing unsafe operation.

Our Batch Powder Ovens feature a Converge touchscreen control panel with features such as advanced time/temperature range programming, alarm notification and recipe storage for up to 64 programmable steps. Storing multiple oven recipes reduces the need for manual adjustments, saving time and labor. Panel controls are intuitive and straightforward for production teams to operate.

Curing means chemically curing coatings, resins or adhesives by applying controlled heat over a set timeframe. The resulting chemical reaction hardens the material, facilitating powder coating, adhesive bonding and composite manufacturing.

Drying ovens are designed to eliminate moisture and solvents from parts, preventing common imperfections such as bubbling, corrosion and poor adhesion. While curing and drying are distinct processes, they aren’t mutually exclusive. GFS ovens are engineered to handle both tasks, making them suitable for evolving production environments.

The first step is submitting an industrial products quote request. We’ll connect you with an expert GFS distributor who can answer any questions you have regarding features or pricing, help you assess your business’ needs, and walk you through the purchase process.

If you aren’t sure what product you need, please contact us directly to discuss your situation in further detail. We’re looking forward to working with you.

Customer Stories & Case Studies

“All of GFS’ stuff is just stout, very well-built”

When Fox Valley Sandblasting & Powder Coating expanded to a 37,000-square-foot facility in 2020, Mike Schwebke and family wanted equipment that could handle any products that came to their door. A 40-foot-long Batch Powder Oven from GFS has been big enough to outsize their competition and help boost their bottom line.
