Galvanized Paint Mix Rooms for Safely Mixing Paint

Industrial Paint Mixing Room

An excellent companion to our industrial paint booths, Industrial Paint Mix Rooms from Global Finishing Solutions® (GFS) provide a safe, controlled area for mixing paint. Wall panels are fabricated from 18-gauge galvanized or pre-coated white sheet steel, and are pre-punched and companion flanged for easy, on-site, nut-and-bolt assembly. GFS Industrial Paint Mix Rooms also contain a convenient, built-in, 4-inch-deep containment base for capturing potential spills.

Heavy-Duty Panels

GFS’ Industrial Paint Mix Rooms are constructed with single-skin, 18-gauge, G-90 galvanized steel or pre-coated white panels.

Solid Construction

Pre-punched panels with nut-and-bolt assembly takes the guesswork out of installing a mix room, and provides more structural integrity.

ETL and ETL-C Listed

Standard Industrial Paint Mix Rooms are fully ETL and ETL-C listed to meet all applicable industry safety and performance requirements, and facilitate successful inspections.

Safe Air Operation

Before entering the Industrial Paint Mix Room, fresh air flows through high-efficiency filters to remove dirt and dust contaminants. Air flows continuously through the enclosure and into the exhaust plenum, protecting personnel from inhaling harmful vapors.

Safe Liquid Guidelines

The amount of flammable or combustible liquid stored in Paint Mix Rooms must be within the following limits, per NFPA 33:
  • Paint Mix Rooms within 6 feet of the spray area may contain up to 2 gallons per square foot of enclosure floor area, but the combined quantities of liquids in the spray area and mix room shall not exceed 120 gallons
  • Paint Mix Rooms farther than 6 feet from the spray area may contain up to 2 gallons per square foot of enclosure floor area, but shall not exceed 300 gallons
  • If more than one mixing room is installed, the total quantity of liquids shall not exceed the amounts outlined above

Code Compliance

GFS guarantees that our products meet or exceed all of the applicable codes related to the equipment. Our engineers regularly follow and contribute to the advancement of codes and standards that affect the industries that we work in. One of our engineers currently serves on the NFPA Technical Committee on Finishing Processes, a key standard in the finishing industry.

Per NFPA, paint mix rooms MUST contain an automatic fire extinguishing system. GFS does not supply these systems.
